THINGS TO DO IN MONTREAL
1- Check out the two best outdoor markets in Montreal, especially in September, when there will be lots of fresh and delicious produce! ATWATER MARKET and JEAN TALON MARKET. Jean Talon Market is near the Plateau, Little Italy, and Mont-Royal Mountain, while the Atwater Market is near Westmount and the Lachine Canal.
2- Explore Little Italy and maybe grab a slice of pizza at one of the local restos!
3- Venture through the very hip ‘Plateau’ area and stop at a café to people watch or maybe head to one of the million BRING YOUR OWN WINE RETAURANTS (Apportez votre vin). Here are a few ideas:
a. Yuukai (sushi) on Parc Ave.
b. Steak Frites on Laurier
c. Jardin de Panos on Duluth Ave.
d. Curry and Naan on Jean Talon
e. Buvette Chez Simone (not BYOW)
f. Sparrow (not BYOW)
While you're in the neighbourhood!
a. St-Viateur bagels are delicious
b. Explore the Plateau alleyways!!
c. The Main (on St. Laurent) is a fun venture if you like smoked meat.
d. La Chilinita is the best empanada place in town!
4 - The Mountain is a wonderful place to relax so make sure you go for a
stroll. Trek all the way to the lookout and you'll see a beautiful
panoramic view of Montreal. :)
5 - Explore St-Henri and Little Burgundy and have a picnic on the canal!
6 - In old Montreal, walk along the water and explore some of the old cobblestone streets.
